Meremere Speedway

In the back of the Meremere Drag strip facility, it was used by the CTR (Circle Track Racing) breakaway group in the 1990’s.

The track was very long and fast but subject to flooding in winter when it was used for power boat racing before it dried out for the next season of speedway.

Led mostly by Phill Horrobin and Barry Butterworth, this group ran a lot of amazing meetings around the North Island and the CTR group is still running today with tracks in both Islands.
